More about our programmes |
GroundedThe Grounded groups are for young people, aged 11-16, who are experiencing difficulties when coping with situations of conflict or confrontation with adults. They may find themselves in trouble at school, home or in their local community.
If you are a young person who sometimes finds yourself in trouble with adults, can lose your temper easily and wants to learn how to stay calm in difficult situations, then come and join our group. These sessions include a mix of activities to encourage participation and teamwork, whilst engaging young people. Groups run for 2 hours per week for 7 weeks. |
Living With TeenagersFor parents and carers of teenagers aged 11 to 16 years old.
This can run in parallel to our Grounded programme. It supports parents and carers who find themselves in difficulties with the behavioural and communication challenges that the teenage years can present. We will support them in developing their skills in coping with and managing their teenager's behaviour. Groups run for 2 hours per week for 7 weeks. Any parent, grandparent or carer of a teenager aged 11 to 16 years old can book a place on the programme. |
Positive Minds GroundedOur Positive Minds Grounded programme is specifically targeted towards young people between 11-16 who are experiencing mental ill-health and / or social, emotional or behavioural difficulties.
The core of the programme is based on our Grounded programme but group members will also have the opportunity to explore the affects of poor mental health. The programme runs for 2 hours per week, for 8 weeks. |
Positive Minds Living With TeenagersThis is the parallel parenting group to Positive Minds Living with Teenagers. The core of the programme is based on our established Living with Teenagers group work programme but group members will also have the opportunity to explore the effects of poor mental health on the parenting task and the strategies and ideas that potentially diminish negative influences.
Running a specialist group means there is more likely to be a common or shared experience among the members that allows for a more open discussion on mental health (and related matters) as well as a better understanding of the impact of the symptoms on the family and parenting approach in the home. The programme runs for 2 hours per week, for 8 weeks. |
|
Overcoming AnxietyThe ‘Overcoming Anxiety’ programme is specifically targeted towards young people aged 11-18 who are struggling with anxiety and how to maintain it in a positive way. Their behaviour, thoughts and feelings are affected by their levels of anxiety, and this is affecting their relationships with others.
This programme has been adapted from our ‘Positive Minds – Grounded’ Programme and the CAMHS ‘Cool Kids’ Programme to include topics relating to understanding anxiety and promoting positive mental health for young people The programme runs for 2 hours per week, for 8 weeks. |
Supporting Your Anxious ChildThis is the parallel parenting group to Overcoming Anxiety.
The programme aims to increase parents' and carers' knowledge, understanding and skills in managing their young person’s anxiety. It looks at what may be influencing the young person’s behaviour, how behaviour patterns can be learned, the link between thoughts, feelings and behaviour and practical parenting strategies to enable you to support your young person to overcome their anxiety and avoidance behaviours. Groups run for 2 hours per week for 8 weeks. Any parent, grandparent or carer of a teenager aged 11 to 18 years old can book a place on the programme. |
